Veteran Employment Issues: How To Find A Job In The Civilian World
By Michele Rosenthal
Yahooooo! Wow, it feels good to be back on the air! This was our first show on our new station, CONTACT TALK RADIO, with our brand new sponsor, Timberline Knolls Residential Treatment Center.
I learned so much from this week’s episode. My guests were Terry Howell, Managing Editor for Benefits for Military.com, and Rebecca Leyson, founder of RallyPoint Consulting and Staffing. Together they covered both obstacles and success strategies for how veterans transition into the civilian workplace, including:
- the top 3 difficulties facing veterans in the civilian workplace
- resources for veterans seeking to make the civilian transition
- 5 key points every military person needs to know about how to land a civilian job
In addition to all of that we had a great discussion about whether or not to drop the ‘D’ from Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (what’s your opinion??)
